Day-to-day of the Director of Operations: Develop and implement operational strategies across multiple sites. Lead strategic operational projects, offering insight and expertise. Mentor site operations managers to ensure consistent, high-quality operations. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and champion our people values. Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and operational KPIs. Manage resources effectively within budget and in collaboration with third-party labour suppliers. Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency, productivity, and accurate order fulfilment. Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to resolve issues and exceed customer expectations. Drive technology adoption, including the implementation of warehouse management systems, to enhance efficiency. Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices, identifying and implementing operational improvements. Conduct regular audits and assessments to boost productivity and reduce waste. Required Skills & Qualifications of the Director of Operations Previous experience working across various operations (including warehouse, customer service, supply chain and sales) and multisite Proven leadership in a multi-site operations environment. Strong understanding of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and relevant technologies. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Client Details Our client is a market leading manufacturing company in the fabrics and textiles industry Description Reporting to the Managing Director, The purpose of this role is to execute business and operations strategies, with the primary focus on operational management, engineering and quality systems. Driving and optimising all processes to ensure consistently high levels of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity & People Engagement, implementing structures and systems to enable, maintain, and deliver the business plan in the Ops function. The operations director will oversee all daily responsibility of production,engineering and quality, driving a right first-time high quality culture, generating a culture of high performance through effective relationships and collaboration/alignment across all functions, ensuring accountability at all levels. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering or related field of study or equivalent is preferred You must have a demonstrable record of full site responsible with the textiles / fabrics manufacturing sector Proven track record successfully managing operations to achieve bottom line profitability through sustainable operational excellence to include lean manufacturing, process management, systems maximisation and the development of a strong team is essential Proven leadership ability Experienced in shaping, embedding, and coaching a team with clear accountabilities in a results oriented environment Experienced in building and managing customer relationships in an industry where competition is high, and results are achieved through operational and quality excellence Good working knowledge of SIGMA 6 and Lean required Job Offer £90,000 to £110,000 plus package.
