Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking an Operations Director on behalf of one of our clients.

Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire our operations team to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of REDs core project in all areas.
  • Efficiently manage manpower, equipment, and materials to meet project deadlines and financial objectives.
  • Streamline workflows and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency and customer service.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control to ensure customer satisfaction and adherence to industry standards.
  • Enforce rigorous health and safety protocols to create a safe work environment for our team and clients. Instal a Safety-first culture in all our staff in all areas.
  • Collaborate with the management team to monitor budgets, control costs, and drive profitability. Regular review of P&L management.
  • Assist the Procurement manager where necessary to Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to secure favourable terms and enhance project outcomes.
  • Identify training needs and provide guidance to our team to enhance their skills and knowledge. Ensuring database records are kept in date.
  • Work closely with the directors to develop and execute business strategies that support long-term growth and expansion.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, capable of motivating and leading diverse teams, with a recognised qualification in management leadership.
  • Health & Safety qualifications and management of safety experience, i.e. diploma, NEBOSH etc
  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience of managing profit and loss in an Engineering or safety centric environment.
  • Sound financial acumen and ability to manage budgets effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement and operational excellence.
  • Ambition to take on a greater leadership role and become a shareholder and director in the company.
  • Honest, open, driven and committed.
  • High level of energy and drive
  • Resilient – is not afraid of a challenge.
  • To have good judgement and able to build collaborative relationships quickly and effectively.
