Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently supporting our client in the search for a Director of Operations. Our Client is a luxury art retailer, looking for new members seeking to bring their own unique expertise and perspectives to a high functioning team.

The ideal candidate will have senior management experience in a dynamic setting. The role requires outstanding organizational, communication, and leadership skills and an ability to develop and maintain innovative solutions that push boundaries. The Director of Operations will work closely with the company Founders to strategize and develop long-term plans that usher in new levels of productivity and success for the company.Our client is keen to offer opportunities to Ex-Military personnel, but all applications will be considered.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with senior managers in the development of performance goals and long-term operational plans.
  • Maximize efficiency and productivity through extensive process analysis and internal and external collaboration.
  • Set strategic goals for operational efficiency and increased productivity.
  • Work with project managers in the development of financial, budgetary and job specific delivery requirements.
  • Analyze current operational processes and performance, recommending solutions for improvement where necessary.
  • Plan, monitor, and analyze key metrics for day-to-day operations to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks .
  • Develop and implement weekly, monthly and quarterly production targets and monitor day-to-day progress to ensure targets are met.
  • Ensure that the use of designated systems, processes and procedures is enforced.
  • Draw on relationships with other senior managers, external partners, and vendors to make decisions regarding operational activity and strategic goals
  • Devise strategies for ensuring the growth of programs company-wide, and implement process improvements to maximize output and minimize costs and constantly maintain and improve
  • productivity.
  • Adhere to the company's policies and standards, and ensure that laws and regulations are being followed.
  • Work closely with HR to lead the team with integrity and to establish and maintain a trusting, inclusive, and productive environment.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong commercial acumen and P&L management.
  • Ten or more years in a senior leadership role in a field related to the art / architecture / luxury industry.
  • Masterful organizational, communication, and leadership skills, backed by previous professional success.
  • Superior knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles, including finance, customer service, production, and employee management.
  • Proven ability to plan and manage operational processes for maximum efficiency and productivity.
  • Ability to streamline or implement structures and roles that boost speed and efficiency while supporting rapidly shifting business demands.
  • Strong working knowledge of industry regulations and legal guidelines.
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
  • Experience in developing budgets and business plans.
  • Superior negotiation skills for both internal and external purposes.
  • Strong working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics, using business management software ( CRM – preferably SalesForce.com).
