Along with the Head of Service the Interim H&S Manager will be there to provide strategic and operational leadership for health, safety and wellbeing across the organisation. They will overall provide expertise in this critical area and ensure that the organisation continues to meet all legislative and statutory responsibilities and obligations whilst adopting good practice principles. Description Some of the key responsibilities of the role include: To provide strategic and operational leadership for the organisations health and safety functions using both internal and external resource. Create an efficient and professional health and safety advisory service for all services across the organisation setting clear expectations and standards for all colleagues and teams relating to health, safety and wellbeing. To deliver assurance and compliance across all critical processes, leading on a health & safety compliance system project to deliver assurance and compliance. To be responsible for the organisations Health and Safety contractor and supplier Frameworks ensuring it remains compliant in line with legislation and sector best practice. Liaise with the organisations assets team on all aspects of Fire safety providing support and guidance ensuring compliance of all legislative requirements under legislation. Collaborating with the leadership team, stakeholders and colleagues, to facilitate and co-ordinate the development and delivery of the strategy and performance improvement plan for health and safety risk management. Health and safety performance improvement plans will include people, property, occupational health and wellbeing. Develop indicators and outcomes for compliant health and safety performance and implement effective management reporting systems - monitoring standards, processes, communications, training and systems that will ensure that health and safety is embedded within the organisation and achieves both excellence and value for money. Produce and deliver quarterly health and safety performance reports and statistics to the directors. Manage the programme of health and safety audits/inspections and monitor the completion of corrective actions within the organisation. Profile A successful Interim H&S Manager should have: NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent level qualification in health and safety management Chartered Member of IOSH Experience of leading and managing a health and safety team and associated budgets. Ability to translate legislation and standards into practical and succinct H&S policy and procedure. Experienced in the collection and analysis of complex data and in the preparation of management reports to senior managers.
