A leading National privately owned house builder with a great reputation for quality are looking to recruit a Town Planner for their Peterborough office. The role: This is an exciting opportunity to join the Planning Team. This role typically reports to the Head of Planning and will have contact with consultants, local planning authorities, stakeholders and local communities. The purpose of the role is to carry out planning and development appraisals, prepare and submit planning and other related applications within the residential sector for both immediate and strategic sites. The role will include: Producing site assessments, detailed examination of planning histories, policy analysis, interpretation and consideration of material considerations, and new site appraisals for immediate and strategic sites in a timely manner to meet required deadlines to maintain the relationship with the Land team and protect the interests of the company. Prepare and project manage different types of planning applications from Outline/Full and Reserved Matters to the discharge of planning conditions accurately so that the Region can maintain new sites to develop Liaise and brief internal layout designers, external consultants and officers at local planning authorities prior, during and post submission in order to develop strong working relationships Prepare Planning Statements, Design & Access Statements and a range of other planning documents required to support applications accurately and on time so the business can continue to achieve the necessary planning approvals Organise supporting information and attend required stakeholder/public consultation events with professionalism at all times to build confidence with the general public Formulating planning strategies to promote medium and long term development sites through the plan-making process under the guidance of the Planning Manager to continue a pipeline of new sites for the region On occasion to deputise for the Head of Planning to provide support and assistance to the team Monitor development plan progress and associated evidence based and policy documents within each local planning authority area The Company: A privately owned national house builder. The Person: It is likely you will have previously worked as either a Town Planner or Planner in a similar house building environment. Experience in housing is essential. You will require the following: Experience in house building / residential industry. Previous exposure to business efficiency and profitability. In depth experience of audio visual, mechanical / electrical services, their integration, regulations, protocols and related technical languages including lighting, HVAC, BMS and control systems. A good articulacy of the English language (both verbal and written). Ability to work on one's own initiative in an efficient manner.
