You're a Transport Leader with operational experience of running and overseeing all aspects of a van and HGV fleet in a multi-site organisation.
You understand the need for health and safety compliance as well as cost effective maintenance solutions and have a wealth of experience adhering to vehicle service and maintenance schedules in accordance with standards set out by the DVSA.
As a National CPC Qualification holder, you'll have responsibility for the company's Operators Licence and a good understanding of FORS legislation (Fleet Operators Recognition Scheme) and the associated yearly audits.
Manage checks and controls to uphold fleet safety and reliability, collaborating closely with vehicle maintenance service providers to minimize downtime.Understand and implement relevant legislation and standards, liaise with internal specialists and regulatory authorities, and continuously improve safety performance.Maintain strict security of property and products, including serving as an emergency call-out key holder and attending call-outs when required.Utilise working knowledge of relevant legislation, safety, quality procedures, and site operating instructions.Deliver regular company briefings on Safety and Performance to all employees.Ensure sites under your control are maintained in line with company policies and external regulatory authorities.Budgeting and Expenditure:Work with senior management to prepare budgets and manage expenditure within specified parameters.Prioritise the customer in decision-making processes and ensure employees are trained to deliver excellent customer service in all areas of the cylinder and bulk business.Lead the dispatching and scheduling functions for the area, ensuring all planned delivery schedules consider driver and vehicle compliance with relevant transport regulations.Coach, mentor, and plan appropriate training and development for all staff and drivers.Conduct performance reviews in line with company procedures to create a robust and efficient operation that meets financial targets and KPIs.
