Review balance sheet requests and check and approve journals.
Monitor accounts to trial balance level and assist the preparation of final accounts, including liaising with the external auditors as necessary.
Lead on the completion of the Whole of Government Accounts return which will involve the co-ordination of input from other officers so that it is completed and submitted before the deadline.

The candidate would need to be a qualified accountant with experience of preparing the statement of accounts and strong ICT skills (ie Excel, SQL, Power BI) .
The candidate will work alongside existing Senior Closing Accountant to clear the back log of audit queries and develop reports for our new finance system to aid closing down 2024/25.
The role will also involve developing accounting practices, such as the consolidation of separate ledgers.
We are looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join us on a temporary basis to join us as soon as possible.
As an integral member of the finance team, the postholder will be responsible for excellent service delivery of all aspects relating to the accounting function including, developing, and maintaining effective financial management systems, ensuring that adequate control and procedures are in place to ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and statutory requirements.
This role will be for an initial 3-month basis but could extend beyond this, and will provide management accounting support services to all entities across our group of companies.
