Management Accountant
We are looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join us on a temporary basis to join us as soon as possible. This role will be for an initial 3-month basis but could extend beyond this, and will provide management accounting support services to all entities across our group of companies.
As an integral member of the finance team, the postholder will be responsible for excellent service delivery of all aspects relating to the accounting function including, developing, and maintaining effective financial management systems, ensuring that adequate control and procedures are in place to ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and statutory requirements.
The postholder will work closely with the Head of Finance and Finance Business Partners to ensure the provision of a coordinated financial support services to the BD Group entities (which includes the following Soft FM, Hard FM/Maintenance, and Property/Asset entities - BD Together, BD Corporate Cleaning, BD Management Services, LondonEast-UK).
Duties:
- The Management Accountant will work closely with the Head of Finance and Finance Business Partners to ensure the provision of a coordinated financial support services to the BD Group entities and specifically be tasked with carrying out a project to interrogate cost lines to ensure cost codes are allocated correctly. Other general duties include:
- Producing monthly management accounts.
- Preparing monthly payroll journals.
- Ensuring monthly Payroll to GL reconciliations are performed and signed off.
- Ensuring cost and revenue reconciliations are agreed.
- Ensuring intercompany balance sheet reconciliations are performed, agreed between entities and subsequent invoicing is issued and paid.
- Reconciliation of detailed balance sheet cost accruals, revenue accruals, prepayments, and deferred income
- Processing and filing of journals (with associated supporting documentation/workings), ensure all accrual journals are processed as reversing journals ensuring they are fully reversed each month.
- Reviewing general ledgers, ensuring transactions are coded to correct GL accounts, or reallocated where found to be incorrect.
- Assisting with the Production of annual budgets, whilst working integrally with the Finance Business Partners.
- Ensuring monthly accounting processes are completed successfully and any errors are resolved.
- Working closely with Financial Business Partners to financially produce monthly accounting figures, and forecasts.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Qualified AAT/ACMA/ACCA accountant or qualified by relevant experience.
- Prior experience of delivering month end processes and reporting using accounting software packages - ideally gained within a facilities management environment
- Accustomed to explaining and presenting complex financial issues to a diverse audience (including non-finance colleagues.
- Dealing with a range of routine and complex enquiries
- Production and presentation of management information using MS office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint)
- Expert in Management Accounting techniques including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Good technical accounting knowledge and the ability to methodically resolve challenges.
- Ability to develop positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels and from all areas of the business.
Working Arrangements:
- Full time (36 hours per week), Monday to Friday.
- Hybrid - 3 days per week in our office in Dagenham
