Contract Details: Temporary, 3 months (possibility of extension), 35 hours a week
Role Purpose
Responsible for assessing and determining the day-to-day placement of homeless households and applicants into emergency temporary accommodation, matching requirements to suitable properties.
This role requires the postholder to provide advice and liaise with B&B landlords and TA proprietors on council procedures and policies.
An experienced Housing Options/ Prevention/Homelessness Assessment Officer who can hit the ground running working with minimal supervision on a working with offenders and prison releases, candidate will be expected to be part of the Housing Options duty Service, completing assessment, and carrying out prevention and relief work.
Candidates will be required to demonstrate they have practical experience of delivering in a pressurised Housing Options Services and is manage the multiple demands and pressures of the service.
And managing a varied caseload Knowledge of Part VII Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Reduction Act and other relevant legislation and statute is required along with experience of carrying out homelessness enquires, casework and drafting s184 decision letters.
