About the Role
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will provide crucial support in managing all cost, commercial, and quantity surveying aspects of designated projects.
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Building Surveyor to join our team.
This role involves providing a comprehensive professional surveying and technical service to diagnose, specify, design, and facilitate a wide range of building repair works and adaptations.
You will ensure all work is completed in accordance with statutory and local legislation and meets all departmental key performance requirements.
The individual will need to be familiar with working with different rate books i.e NEC/SPONS/NATFED, etc and understand their inherent application weaknesses.
It will initially be working on the validation/build up of SORs for electrical and mechanical street works projects covering the public realm - ie street lighting, EV Charge Points, street furniture, etc and consolidating the relevant pricing into budgets, cash flow forecasts, and also completing cost value reconciliations.
This role is business critical to the Traded Services department as it underpins all our delivery activities.
The London Borough of Hillingdon is looking for candidate with a strong Quantity Surveying background (if possible working towards MRICS, MCIOB).
They will be working on the programme of capital works projects (including education, housing and corporate buildings) and will need to be able to scrutinise the financial and contractional aspects of their allocated projects from inception to completion.
Some local authority experience is an advantage but not essential.
