Position Sought: Quantity Surveyor/Senior QS/Project QS

Project: M25 Upgrades

Location: Kent or Essex

Contract: Freelance

Duration: 6 Months (with possible extension)

If your a QS/Senior QS/Project QS with Highways experience based in the Kent or Essex area and are looking for a contracting/freelance role, this will be a great opportunity for you!

Our client, who is a leading specialist within the Highways and Civil Engineering market, is looking for the above position to embark on a variety of projects to help improve roads across the M25. The scope of work will include EMI Waterproofing, Bridge Joint and Bearing Replacements. This is an NEC form of contract specifically Option C and E.

Main Duties:

  • Support and mentoring of junior staff.
  • Maximise profitability on contracts.
  • Monitoring contract costs against budgets.
  • Identifying potential risks and evaluate options for control.
  • Preparation of estimates.
  • Procurement of sub-contractors, including preparation of subcontract documents.
  • Assessment and certification of interim and final payments to subcontractors.
  • Preparation and agreeing main contract variations.
  • Assist in the preparation of documents for resolution of disputes (adjudications / arbitration and the like).
  • Ensure all work complies with quality, safety and environmental policies and the requirements of the company procedure.
