ESSENTIAL TO APPLY Strong background in process chemical engineering. Extensive experience in process design, project management, and client engagement within the sectors of oil and gas, petrochemicals, and industrial processes. Extensive experience in delivering technical solutions, managing projects, and developing key relationships with clients. Experience in process engineering across various sectors, including oil and gas, petrochemicals, and industrial processes. Proficiency in process modelling software and basic knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD engineering drawings. Strong project management, problem-solving, and client engagement skills. Knowledge of international design codes and specifications (ASME, PD5500, PED 97/23/EC). Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards and HAZOP, HAZID, HAZMAT guidelines. Excellent technical, numeracy, and people skills. Ability to manage and prioritise workloads under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft 365 products and project management tools. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Process Design and Calculations: Perform process design calculations to size, select, and specify static equipment such as vessels, filtration equipment, tanks, and reactors. Specify mechanical seals and support systems for rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, mixers, agitators, and filter dryers. Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and piping line schedules and process control philosophies. Project Management: Lead and manage process design deliverables from pre-FEED, FEED, to EPC stages. Implement standard operating procedures and design calculations in line with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards. Client Engagement: Engage closely with clients to understand their requirements and deliver tailored technical solutions. Manage and strengthen relationships with clients and stakeholders. Conduct site surveys, prepare proposals, and manage project documentation. Technical Expertise and Compliance: Perform simulations using process modelling software or competent in hand calculations. Conduct HAZOP studies and risk assessments (HAZID, HAZMAT, COSHH, COMAH, LOPA, SIL, ATEX). Provide technical advice and support to internal sales teams and clients. Business Development: Lead product development discussions and cross-departmental problem-solving initiatives. Prepare cost estimates and follow up on quotations to convert to sales orders. This role offers the opportunity to manage projects across various industries, delivering world-class products globally. As a Senior Process Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining manufacturing processes for current and future programs. You'll support processes and procedures associated with assembly from concept to series production. Senior Process Engineer Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain manufacturing processes. Develop and implement manufacturing process documentation. Support specification and design of equipment layouts and material flows. Requisitioning of new and modified tooling and equipment required for assembly. Support production team during industrialisation phases to improve quality and efficiency. Support prototype builds and development of assembly work standards. Continuous improvement of manufacturing processes to meet targets. Senior Process Engineer Skills Proven work experience in NPI Process Engineering or similar role, preferably in the automotive sector but other manufacturing sectors considered Hands-on experience of lean manufacturing. Understanding of relevant manufacturing methods and detailed drawing dimensioning/GD&T. Design & CAD experience for tooling & fixtures, virtual builds, factory layouts (2D/3D), and assembly equipment. Knowledge in manufacturing processes and documentation including DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, Capability studies (gauge R&R), and equipment handover. Excellent problem-solving skills (8D). Knowledge of automotive technology and product development in powertrain/propulsion systems is ideal but not essential Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally.
