Job description:

Process Technologist

Salary: Circa £35,000 depending on experience

40 hours per week

???????Monday to Friday, 08:00-16:00

As a Process Technologist, you will be supporting the site in all aspects of Process engineering, optimisation, CI and BIP. You will support the EPD/NPD process (writing of NIC's, BOM's, trial requests, trials reports and specifications etc). You will also lead/manage all aspects of related projects/ trials.

What we need from you:

  • Degree/equivalent in Food Science/Process Engineering.
  • CI Toolkit including Multi-variant analysis, DoE, SPC, 5S, TPM, SIC, Process modelling,
  • Value stream mapping.
  • IT literate – systems orientated.

Main duties and responsibilities include:

  • Ensure all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures are followed. Support and enforce standards as set out in the site HSE policies.
  • Drive a food safety quality culture through engagement and continuous improvement to maintain and improve the safety, authenticity, legality, and quality of products manufactured on site.
  • Lead in the identification and improvement of site processes.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing centre teams to drive improvements in yield, waste, and OEE.
  • Provide expert knowledge to stakeholders on impact of process changes on operational outputs.
  • Utilise awareness of new technologies and developments to drive improvements in site existing technologies and their application to site products and processes.
  • Proactively identify and support supply chain scenario development and feasibility studies.
  • Manage documentation relating to process specifications.
  • Manage process change control.
  • Support in innovation implementation – including process innovation projects, process specification for new processes, validation/commissioning support, product data coordination (NIC, BOM and specification processes)
  • Support Quality department when required in support of QIR completion, identifying causes of quality issues to provide feasible solutions.
  • Use process analysis to proactively identify/reduce quality issues related to CPMU data

The Worksop Site

The Worksop site was established in 1935, and we have four highly-automated factories on site that produce a variety of well-known brands and products including:

  • OXO
  • Sauces - including Sharwoods and Homepride
  • Batchelors Supernoodles and Sharwoods Poppadoms
  • Bisto gravy granules and SAXA salt

We have a workforce of around 500 colleagues.
