PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To be responsible for the processing of Development Management matters within an area based or function based team including responsibility for the handling of pre-application advice, planning applications, appeals and enforcement including negotiations with developers and other interested parties, securing financial and other community benefits through legal agreements.
Planning Officers with experience dealing with a range of applications from householder to minor applications and to assist in processing backlog applications
Planner (BEXLEY 12)
Planner will be expected to work and use their own initiative with little direct supervision and support their Team Leader as required.
The Energy Projects & Programmes Officer post supports the work of the Energy Services Team by delivering energy and carbon-saving projects and supporting the delivery of the team's wider work, which may include assessing energy statements of planning applications, providing energy-related advice to other council departments, as well as any other tasks that supports the delivery of the team's objectives.
Preparing reports, statistics and other information as required.
Maintaining effective relationships with other council departments in order to identify energy-saving opportunities.
To take a role in the Southwark Planning Department Development Programme to take part in and support staff in a learning environment where you will have the opportunity to develop professional skills, knowledge, behaviours and work experience in Planning.
You will work in partnership with transport, environment and planning colleagues and professional associations to drive forward their improvement agenda through their staff.
You will develop effective working relationships with colleagues internally and with planners throughout London to ensure that you understand their aims and priorities.
