Continuous Improvement Manager Okarno, a Saint-Gobain Business Ruddington, Nottingham, NG11 Are you passionate about delivering improvements across distribution and manufacturing operations and applying lean tools and data insights for improvement projects? We are hiring a Continuous Improvement Manager for our Okarno facility in Ruddington to promote change projects in a growing distribution operation. The Continuous Improvement Manager is a key role committed to analysing efficiencies and overseeing continuous improvement initiatives within Okarno. The position is crucial for finding opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, optimize processes, and reduce costs at our Ruddington and Wakefield sites. An experienced CI Manager is essential to maximizing site potential. You will instigate improvement projects across processes, systems, operations, and people while encouraging a culture of continuous improvement. You will manage both process improvement projects and physical site improvements, including supporting the delivery of CAPEX in plant assets and the site facilities. The role will involve managing our site Engineering & Facilities Manager. There are some critical projects planned in which you will play a key role, initially the implementation of a new warehouse management system. We require a data-driven individual who can pinpoint opportunities to improve site processes, increase efficiency, maximize capacity, and reduce costs. What We're Looking For: An experienced Continuous Improvement Manager, able to demonstrate success in production and distribution operations. Formally trained and skilled in the application of lean tools in focused improvement projects such as Six Sigma and WCM. A data-driven person who can analyze data to improve efficiency and capacity in production and distribution. A safety-conscious professional who will consider and factor in operational safety in the delivery of all projects. Formal training in managing safety would be an advantage. Excellent change management skills, including culture and systems. Previous experience of new system implementation projects such as WMS or SAP systems would be a distinct advantage. Job Title: Production Supervisor Reporting to: Operations Manager Direct reports: Yes Purpose of the role The main purpose of this role is to Manage & develop their Direct Reports to ensure the Health and Safety of the workplace and minimise the Environmental impact of the company operation. To work closely with the Operation Manager in achieving the required business objectives. Main responsibilities To ensure the Safety and Wellbeing of all employees under their control. Follow all advise and direction given by the SHEQ Advisor with regard to Health, Safety & Environmental matters. Must have the ability to use MasterPack where required. Point of contact between Operations Manager and all Line Leaders and Direct Reports. Liaise with the Planning & Purchasing Manager on the Production Plan to ensure all Priority levels are met. Management of TPM requirements for their department. Amendment of booked quantities to match produced quantities where required. Provide competent support to the management team on identifying Training gaps and prioritising the action plan to resolve. Ensure SOP's are in place for all processes, and that training has been completed by Operators, including sign-off documentation. Completion of all required business documentation, either personally or through the Line Leaders. Work proactively with Managers and Line Leaders to establish and maintain a programme of continuous improvement. Discuss areas for improvement with relevant staff and senior Managers and agree appropriate corrective action. Be involved in Internal & External Audits as required. Completion of Yearly / Half Yearly Employee Reviews. Skills & experience Must have, or be willing to complete IOSH Managing Safely Cert. Working knowledge of MasterPack procedures relating to department Processes. Demonstrable experience of Managing, Training & Developing a team. Honesty & Openness with people at all levels, internally and externally. Effective planning and project management skills with the ability to set and work to (personal, team and organisational deadlines. Ability to motivate and develop others.
