DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Installation, configuration and maintenance of all hardware and software throughout the organisation at different locations. Troubleshoot, fix, and repair mobiles, desktop, laptop, and server issues. Implement new technologies and provide resources to complete IT projects as needed. Provide a reliable and effective support service to the union's staff. Assist with the prompt resolution of support requests. Identifying and resolving software and hardware issues as required. Creating and maintaining user accounts in Microsoft 365/Active Directory. Creating & maintaining of accounts in the telephony system. Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders. Liaison with Modern Networks, being the first point of contact between them and the FBU, working with them to ensure an efficient and effective service. You will need at least 3 years IT experience including installation, configuration and deployment of software and computers for this support position Person specification (Qualifications and skills level) Essential Proven work experience in IT support or IT technician roles. Degree or advanced apprenticeship in Computer Science or relevant disciplines. In-depth knowledge of Windows, Mac operating systems. Practical experience with internet and network security protocols. Problem-solving skills, conscientious and with an eye for detail. Technical documentation skills. Willing to travel to regional offices (fully funded.) Organisational and interpersonal skills. Experience of working with outsourced IT service providers. Desirable (but not critical) Knowledge ofLinux and UNIX operating systems Level 2 Certificate in ICT Systems Support or Level 3 Diploma in ICT Professional Competence.
