Role Details: Aldermaston, Reading Hybrid, 3 days per week onsite 18-month Contract Negotiable rates of pay Outside IR35 37 Hours Per week About the Role: The Energy Division at Advanced Resource Manager is currently looking for an Engineering Manager in a leading Nuclear Defence Business Key Responsibilities To be the lead engineering representative on the project. Responsible for delivery in terms of quality, meeting requirements, safety, value for money and schedule. Be the main point of contact for all engineering matters on a project. To ensure that the Engineering Requirements are suitable & appropriate and advise the Senior Engineering Manager. To recommend the budget and programme, to the Senior Engineering Manager, to deliver design. Assessing the suitability of engineering design resources (both internal and external to AWE) to execute facility design. Ensure adequate competency and competency records. To lead, drive, communicate and deliver Facility Designs, with due regard to safety, quality, schedule, cost effectiveness and lifetime value for money. Maintaining oversight of the facility design as it develops via routine reviews. To deliver, to the SEM, design solutions that meet business needs, functional performance, through life performance and is licensable and deliverable. To manage the Design Intent and Design Information Configuration from inception through to project handover. To provide functional support in identifying and implementing change, development, and improvement. To assist the Head of Design Engineering in developing the Facility Design capability within AWE, encompassing both Improvements and Resource skills development. What You Need to Succeed HNC/HND or Degree qualification, ideally Chartered. Knowledge of CDM regulations desirable SC Clearance (essential) Background in EC&I and or PP&E engineering Multidisciplinary engineering experience preferred. Strong stakeholder management skills at all levels. Previous experience in highly regulated industries Ability to capture engineering requirements and produce technical documentation and specifications. Demonstrated project team leadership throughout product design lifecycle in particular, concept and detailed design phases.
