Job Title: Test Cell Engineer (mechanical) Location: Barton under Needwood Hours: 44 hours per week Monday to Thursday: 6am to 4pm Friday: 6am to 12pm Salary: Negotiable depending on experience Position Summary: We are seeking a Test Cell Engineer to perform testing and validation of Rail Engines, Transmissions, Powerpacks, and Cooler Groups. This role requires familiarity with engines and hydraulics ideally and a good understanding of computers. Key Responsibilities: Install and test production power products in test cells according to work instructions. Ensure products meet testing requirements. Record accurate data to ensure traceability. Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation. Develop testing requirements for future products. Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults. Liaise with production on technical issues as required. Collaborate with colleagues and work effectively as part of a team. Mentor trainees and apprentices when applicable. Collect and provide feedback on failure data to Engineering. Work overtime when required. Background & Experience: Intermediate/Advanced computer skills. Experience in testing or a similar discipline. Strong communication skills at all levels. Mechanical bias with beneficial electrical understanding. Qualifications/Education: Engineering qualification or equivalent desirable but not essential. Product training will be provided through mentoring. Key Skills, Competencies, and Personal Attributes: Self-motivated team player with a positive, can-do attitude. Tenacious and resilient. Collaborative and organized.
