They design at every scale from city masterplans, neighbourhoods, parks, streets and buildings to specialist, bespoke light and acoustic installations. The consultancy owns their building in the city centre, and has 5 stories, an on-site caf, excellent views of the city and canals. They offer 2 days WFH each week as well as flexible start times. The Sustainability Group provides a wide range of services across building design to both internal and external clients. Your new company is seeking a professional to join our growing sustainability team. The successful candidate will have previous experience of providing built-environment related consultancy and environmental assessments and will possess an understanding of the environmental policy and legislative landscape and future trajectory. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in, or lead on, the following workstreams: Net-zero carbon strategies and assessments (both operational and embodied) Material lifecycle assessments (embodied carbon assessments) Circularity assessments Environmental and wellbeing consultancy and assessments such as BREEAM, LEED, Ska and the WELL Building Standard Post-occupancy evaluations Environmental management systems NABERS The successful candidate will join a team of specialist consultants working across all areas of the built environment. They will have experience of the planning, design, and construction industries (and associated processes) and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, resulting in the ability to articulate complex ideas and concepts effectively to clients with interdisciplinary teams. They will be able to demonstrate an ability to multitask and have exemplary organisational skills. Their expertise should be borne from an enthusiasm for environmental sustainability, through the practical implementation of strategies that support environmental, social and economic sustainability at local, national and global levels. They will truly enjoy their work, maintain a keen interest in the fast-paced agenda, and will be driven to develop the role and make a positive contribution to projects by advocating change. What you'll need to succeed Required: A formal qualification in a sustainability/environmental management/built environment subject Previous relevant experience working in the field of sustainability Experience of BREEAM and the successful delivery of BREEAM assessments Working knowledge of environmental and sustainability legislation and its applicability to UK development. The drive to explore new or emerging themes and dissemination as appropriate Confidence in preparing and delivering presentations to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders Exemplary written and spoken English, with experience of technical report writing Experience of delivering LEED, Ska or WELL Building Standard assessments Experience of using materials life cycle tools and software such as OneClick LCA Experience of carrying out circularity assessments and consultancy. Cladding Consultant Manchester Day Rate up to £300 Mileage I am representing a Facade Remedial Consultancy who is searching for a Cladding Consultant to join the team and will cover the North of the UK. The consultancy works closely with their clients to understand and manage their facade combustibility risk, defects and remedial issues. They are presently working with a range of clients from social housing providers, landlords, private consortiums and management companies. This opportunity would suit a Cladding Fixer, Cladding Foreman, Assistant Site Manager or Site Manager who has worked in the cladding sector. It is important you have a good understanding of different cladding and faade materials. This role would suit someone who would like to move away from the delivery of projects and use their cladding / facade experience to support the growth of this professional Facade Consultancy. The Role The Cladding Consultant will be responsible for travelling to sites across the North and will review wall conditions of existing buildings. You will take off panels and record the cladding system used, taking photos and video. You will perform a nonintrusive test, drilling a hole into the wall and using an endoscope to survey the wall conditions and exterior faade. You will record if it is timber frame, steel frame or brick and block and record your findings and report back to the building surveying team at head office.
