Be part of the movement and play your part About the role The Regional Operations Manager will direct and oversee transport operations across the North-West of Scotland, including our sites in Inverness, Stornoway and Lochmaddy. You will promote collaboration within the broader Scottish network, managing the Operations and Transport Managers to provide them with day to day support in their business units. You will be responsible for: Key account management Ensuring that all health and safety procedures and policies are properly maintained, implemented and adhered to throughout the sites in line with Health & Safety strategy. Identifying and recommending new opportunities or customers that could increase profitability and / or improve operational efficiency or service standards. Developing positive relationships with new customers. Identify potential new business and explore opportunities for providing the best solutions for customers. Providing statistical information and complete operational reports as and when required. Actively monitoring damage to equipment by carrying out a detailed investigation followed by the implementation of disciplinary sanctions when appropriate. Contributing towards the development of the overall business strategy, ensuring that all departmental objectives are aligned with those of the business. Controlling and managing all budgets, targets, and departmental objectives to ensure that they are achieved, ensure allocation of resources to be working within budgetary limits. Promoting a culture within the business that puts customers first. Encouraging training and development at all levels. Support people in the fulfilment of their potential and ensure that a realistic succession plan is in place. Ensuring that all relevant policies, operating procedures, and standards are properly implemented throughout the area of accountability. About you With a robust background in the Transport/Logistics industry, you bring a wealth of experience in managing and optimising operations. A CPC qualification is highly desirable and will set you apart. In this role, your organisational skills and structured approach will be key. You'll need the confidence and commercial acumen to represent DFDS at a local level, making strategic decisions and embodying our brand across the region.
