Our client is looking for an ambitious and driven Production Manager with excellent communication, analytical, planning, and organisational skills. Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Production Manager will be responsible for a small team of Production Operatives within a busy technical manufacturing environment. This world-leading provider of bespoke, high-pressure gas containment solutions and services is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Production Operative to carry out various tasks in their Sheffield facility. About the role In the position of Production Operative the ideal candidate will have a high degree of mechanical aptitude, mechanical and heavy manufacturing experience, and excellent communication skills. The Production Operative will: Produce quality products in a safe and controlled manner Ensure all works to be undertaken in accordance and compliance with engineering drawings and all associated specifications Be responsible for operating production line equipment, finishing products and reporting any issues with equipment directly to production supervisors. About the job duties, responsibilities and accountabilities: As Production Operative, you will be responsible for: Working various production machinery throughout the manufacturing process, including lathes, milling machines and saws Demonstrable knowledge of appropriate tooling and ability to select the correct speeds and feeds Carrying out basic quality and testing checks Conducting daily preventive maintenance checks on machinery and equipment Reading and interpreting engineering drawings (both metric and imperial) Inspection and recording of all relevant dimensions in accordance with the engineering drawings and documentation packs Use lifting equipment to manipulate products to the next operation and loading of machinery. Ensure that the work area and equipment is maintained, relevant records are up to date and that all processes work effectively to ensure that the business can fulfil its aims Adhering to all safety guidelines dictating the production and handling of materials in the factory Reporting issues or problems with production to the immediate supervisor Identifying and reporting to the immediate supervisor, any issues which impact production and machinery malfunctions Carrying out general fabrication inclusive of burning/cutting/welding Providing mechanical assistance on assembly/trailers Assisting in all other areas of production in accordance with operational requirements.] About the rewards In the role of Production Operative, you will work 37 hours per week and the shifts are: Monday to Thursday 06:30 - 16:15 (Days) Monday to Thursday 16:15 - 02:00 (Nights) may be required and the night shift benefits from a 23% premium Overtime rates are x 1.33 Monday to Friday, x 1.5 on Saturday and x 2.0 on Sunday.
