We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Housing Options Advisor to interview and assess individuals facing homelessness, promote housing options, and determine statutory duties under the Housing Act 1996, Part 7.
Temporary, 3 month contract (possibility to extend)
Working with households who are homeless, or threatened with homelessness, to offer them advice and assistance to resolve their housing situation.
You will complete an assessment to determine what statutory duties the council may owe to the household, develop a personal housing plan, and issue decisions around duties owed.
You will also establish eligibility for the council's various homelessness prevention schemes.
To participate in the Housing Options duty rota and respond to emergencies as required

To advise on all matters relating to landlord and tenant disputes and to negotiate with landlords to prevent homelessness and provide practical assistance to help customers remain in their accommodation or move to alternative accommodation thereby preventing homelessness.
