Main purpose of position

You will be responsible to
Carry out a range of horticulture , grounds maintenance and nature conservation tasks including maintenance of rose gardens, wooded areas, trees and shrubs, summer bedding , hedgerows, nature areas, grass cutting, lawn care, raking, edging, weeding, hedge cutting, sweeping, litter picking, chemical application and operate a wide range of vehicles, horticultural plant and equipment, pedestrian and ride on machinery and hand held equipment to maintain the grounds within the Vale cemetery to the required high standards.
Clear all litter and dumped items within the Borough of Luton, the cleansing contract and provision of services under Best Value, including manual and mechanical sweeping, litter picking, wet washing, litter bin cleansing, clearing garage sites, clearing waste land, clearing up after special events, and clearing up after Road Traffic Accidents, weed spraying and gully cleansing.
Undertake daily routine safety and maintenance checks to the vehicle to ensure that compliance to the Road Traffic Act and Transport Policy are kept to.
