Operations Manager City of London Independent Planning Consultancy Fixed Term Contract £35,000 - £45,000 Hybrid working A wonderful opportunity has arisen for an Operations Manager to join a highly experienced, fast growing and successful independent planning consultancy based in Farringdon. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a smooth and efficient office environment, supporting the Directors and the team, whilst ensuring day-to-day operations run seamlessly. What you'll do: Financial Management Execute changes to payroll monthly and instruct accountant of updates. Assist with administration tasks on accounting software to include establishing new client and suppliers accounts on Xero, managing office supplies budget, and overseeing prompt payment of both sales and purchase ledger invoices. HR Support and Recruitment Execute changes to payroll monthly and instruct accountant of updates. Assist with administration tasks on accounting software to include establishing new client and suppliers accounts on Xero, managing office supplies budget, and overseeing prompt payment of both sales and purchase ledger invoices. Be first point of contact for any sickness or absence and oversea annual leave approval process. Coordinate performance review meetings and team appraisals. Update and maintain confidential personnel records. Support managers in setting goals and career progression plans for individual team members via SMART objectives Ensure all HR related documents are saved in employee personnel folder and kept secure and up to date. Marketing and Events Plan and coordinate company socials and team-building activities including annual summer social (usually in Europe) to include travel, hotels, and restaurants. Manage budget. Organise events for clients including ROK summer party, festive seasons lunches and ad-hoc client entertainment throughout year. Assist with implementation of marketing campaigns, helping to increase brand awareness. Assist the team with individual requirements for presentations and pitches. Help produce and manage general brand awareness tools, including sector brochures and company brochure. Office Management and Administration Manage daily office operations and provide administrative support to the Directors and wider team, as required. Pro-actively manage diaries, schedule appointments, arrange internal and external meetings and coordinate meeting room bookings. General office management, including day to day upkeep of small kitchenette and overseeing refuse disposal/recycling duties. Manage budget for purchasing of new hardware for the team, including mobile phone handsets and laptops and maintain an audit of possessions. What you'll need: Requirements: Proven experience as an Operations Manager, Office Manager or a similar senior administrative role. Strong organisational skills with ability to multitask or rapidly adapt priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. The role requires a high standard of verbal, numerical and written skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
