Your main responsibility will be to offer legal advice within Weightmans' police conduct team. We are currently seeking an experienced Police Associate with over 3 years of PQE to deliver high-quality and timely legal counsel. While prior experience advising police forces is preferred, it is not mandatory. Any background in regulatory law would be advantageous, and advocacy skills are not obligatory. Your tasks will include: Advising on gross misconduct cases, involving drafting Regulation 30 notices, managing disclosure, preparing bundles, and overseeing all aspects of pre-hearing and hearing arrangements. Handling similar responsibilities for accelerated hearings. Providing general counsel on police conduct matters. Liaising with various stakeholders such as solicitors, experts, counsel, and clients.
