An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Manufacturing Engineer to join abatement solutions team. As part of this team, you will collaborate with like-minded engineers at their centre of excellence, just south of Bristol. Mission Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Team Lead, as a Project Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for owning the timely completion of all manufacturing engineering deliverables for new product implementation (NPI) projects or distributed manufacturing projects. You will also be responsible for presenting manufacturing project status at PCP phase gate reviews. Main Responsibilities Complete risk assessments with key stakeholders to maintain a safe and effective work environment. Work with the PME lead to create and improve ME systems and process documentation, using knowledge of Business Management Systems. Demonstrate confidence with product manufacturing processes and working in manufacturing cells, including sub-assembly, final assembly, final testing, and dispatch. Create production work instructions, DFM, make/buy, Capex, PFMEA to aid an effective and efficient build process. Project management of improvement projects, owning, planning, driving, and completing ME deliverables for NPI stage gate reviews, continuous improvement, or work transfer projects. Continuously improve and implement major projects, utilizing knowledge of CI methodologies and operating systems, such as 5S, std work, VSM, kaizen, change management, TPM, SPC, and Gauge R&R. Use problem-solving techniques to perform root cause analysis and investigations (8D), resolving issues arising from internal nonconformities, external FRACAS, or HSE issues. Experience & Skills Manufacturing Engineering degree or a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience (essential). Experience in participating in continuous improvement projects, including principles such as TPM, SMED, 5S, 8D problem-solving, Kaizen, VSM, and change management (essential). Experienced in creating and maintaining manufacturing process documentation (essential). Familiarity with NPI, PCP gate methodology, and MRL, including PFMEA, make/buy, DFM, and build notes (essential). Experience in leading NPI initial build activities and training (essential). Lead by example, demonstrating a compliance, quality-first and safety mindset (essential). Confident in working on own initiative and directing resources (essential). Design for manufacture experience (essential). Experience of delivering projects on time and within budget (essential). Essential candidate has a strong understanding of various assembly techniques and processes. Must be skilled in utilising diverse measuring techniques and equipment. Must be capable of designing assembly fixtures to facilitate assembly processes. Knowledgeable in using CAD models/SolidWorks or similar software would be useful. Understanding of British and International standards related to metrology would be preferable. Experienced in using control plans and producing components according to drawings would be desirable.
