Manufacturing Engineer

Location - Gillingham, Kent

Salary - Highly competitive based on experience

Full-time 37hrs per week

We have an exciting opportunity in Gillingham for a Manufacturing Engineer to work for one of our clients.

In this role, you will be working full-time.

Shifts are

  • Monday to Thursday 8 am to 4.30 pm (with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break)
  • Friday 8 am till 1 pm (no break)

Responsibilities for the role of Manufacturing Engineer

  • Is responsible for defining the manufacturing and assembly method/process required for the creation of prototype components, as assembly and creating manufacturing/assembly routing.
  • Is responsible for building products to a defined order schedule.
  • Is responsible for defining, ordering and manufacturing of special tooling as required.
  • Is responsible for identifying supplementary processes required from sub-contract specialists and agreeing on the process parameters/drawing features/tolerances.
  • Writes work instructions.
  • Support training plans.
  • To define the calibration and control of all assembly equipment maintaining identification, storage location, calibration status and visual standard.
  • Maintain Health & Safety standards, ensuring safe working conditions and best practice processes.

Skills and Experience required for the role of Manufacturing Engineer

  • Must be proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Essential candidate has a strong understanding of various assembly techniques and processes.
  • Must be skilled in utilising diverse measuring techniques and equipment.
  • Must be capable of designing assembly fixtures to facilitate assembly processes.
  • Knowledgeable in using CAD models/SolidWorks or similar software would be useful.
  • Understanding of British and International standards related to metrology would be preferable.
  • Experienced in using control plans and producing components according to drawings would be desirable.
