A great opportunity to join a globally operating and successful logistics / automation company as a multi skilled Maintenance Manager working at a well-known retailers automated distribution centre in Preston. In this role of Maintenance Manager, you will be mainly operating in a leadership role managing your team of 12 engineers. Occasionally may be needed to jump on the tools for larger breakdowns, but this is a rarity. Seeking an experienced engineer with good supervisory or management experience. Role would ideally suit someone looking to progress and take their career to the next stage. Are you a natural leader with a passion for building high-performing teams? If so, this Site Manager role for a well known retail distribution centre could be your perfect next step! In this role, you'll be responsible for the overall management of a site with approximately 5 employees. You'll ensure exceptional customer satisfaction while strategically planning and managing budgets. Your technical expertise will be key in handling electro-mechanical tasks, managing system improvements, and leading your team to success. Here's what you'll be doing: Oversee all aspects of the site, managing the engineering operations team in a fully automated distribution centre. Develop and lead your team, providing technical and regulatory training. Strategically plan and manage budgets, ensuring efficient resource utilization. Respond to electro-mechanical tasks and manage system improvements. Become the on-site point of contact for all customer needs, delivering rapid and effective support. Implement industry best practices to optimize service levels. Provide insightful reports, keeping management informed of progress and successes. Uphold high safety standards and conduct risk assessments. To be successful, you'll have: A minimum of HNC/D or a relevant higher engineering qualification. Proven experience managing teams of 2 people within an automated environment. A strong understanding of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies. Technical skills encompassing software systems, server architecture, networks, and electro-mechanical installations. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-focused approach. Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) is a plus. Strong data analysis and report writing skills. Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Interpersonal and leadership skills to inspire and motivate your team.
