Operations Shift Team Leader £53,000 - £57,000 4 on / 4 off rotating shift pattern Outskirts of Thetford SUMMARY Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the safe operation and environmental performance of the plant on a shift-rota basis. You will ensure the plant operates within safety, environmental, and operational limits, maximizing availability, reliability, and efficiency. You will supervise and develop the shift team, ensuring safe generation and environmental performance. Responsibilities include first-line maintenance, operational routines, and testing. You will adhere to and review all site operations procedures and occasionally act as the Operations Manager. Some national and international travel may be required. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure safe operation and environmental performance of the plant on a shift-rota basis. Operate the plant within safety, environmental, and operational limits. Adhere to site safety rules, including isolation of Mechanical Plant and Electrical Apparatus Ensure plant is released for maintenance in line with planning schedules. Supervise and develop the shift team, ensuring performance and safety. Conduct first-line maintenance, operational routines, and testing. Maintain trade discipline balance within the shift team. Handle defect rectification and fault finding to meet availability and reliability targets. Implement and review health, safety, and environmental policies. Monitor plant performance and take proactive improvement measures. Ensure compliance with site emergency plans and manage site emergencies. Maintain accurate shift logs and record defects/works in the site's CMMS. Record and maintain plant simulations. Participate in recruitment, selection, reviews, and training. Assist in incident investigations and ensure detailed incident reports are produced. Provide operational support for planned outages. Adhere to all Company Policies & Procedures. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Education IOSH Managing Safely is required; NEBOSH Certificate is preferred. Skills & Experience Process operations team leader experience Proficient with Microsoft Office, CMMS, and Nisoft Eclipse. Excellent communication skills in English. Good interpersonal skills, self-motivated, flexible, and committed. Full UK Driving Licence. Personal Attributes Self-motivated with strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
