We are also proud to be a Disability Confident employer. We are looking for a Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our Environmental Services team. In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out grounds maintenance and repair work aimed at enhancing community spaces and delivering exceptional service to our residents. Requirements Key Responsibilities for the Grounds Maintenance Operative: Perform grass cutting, edging, and other landscaping tasks using a variety of machinery, including strimmers, pedestrian mowers, and ride-on mowers. Prune and maintain hedges, shrubs, and trees using appropriate tools such as hedge trimmers and chainsaws. Engage in planting, seeding, and maintaining flower beds and landscaped areas. Conduct inspections of public spaces and perform minor repairs and safety checks on playgrounds and outdoor equipment. Act as a point of contact for residents, addressing inquiries and promoting excellent customer service. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, particularly when operating machinery and handling chemicals. We are seeking candidates who have: A full UK driving license. Previous experience in grounds maintenance or similar roles. A passion for customer service with a proactive and flexible approach to work. Ability to use grounds maintenance machinery safely and effectively. Knowledge of health and safety practices related to grounds maintenance. Good literacy and numeracy skills for record-keeping and reporting.
