To lead, manage and motivate the PTU, operations , contract teams , ensuring that any developed SLA's, external contract requirements , and statutory obligations are met within the service and that work is carried out to the councils Health and Safety procedures, standards and policies; optimising all commercial opportunities in this area of operation.
Main purpose of position
The post will provide operational & strategic leadership and direction for the Council's PTU operational and contract services to ensure that the end to end service can meet the statutory and operational requirements for long term sustainable services.
To take a major role in the development of the organisation's transport policy and strategy, with a particular focus on implementing and promoting sustainable transport initiatives and best practice.
We are working with a local authority who are looking for a Project Manager with a key focus to support the Transport, Infrastructure, and Capital Delivery projects, from concept to physical delivery, and post opening evaluation.
The core purpose of the role is to monitor, report and provide support for infrastructure projects, to support the review and evaluation of projects in conjunction with the Authority Head of PMO and Head of Grant Assurance, and to support the delivery of the Authorities Transport vision for the region.
We are looking for an Transport Operations Supervisor to supervise all transport activities to ensure that the delivery plan is completed in accordance with customers requirements while optimizing the company fleet and ensuring legal compliance.

To contribute to the Council's Net Zero pledge to cut our own emissions to net zero by 2030 and those of our residents and business by 2045 by supporting the preparation and monitoring of the Council's Local Transport Plan, a statutory document which forms part of the Council's Budget and Policy Framework; involving public and stakeholder consultation, plan writing, and undertaking transport studies.
