We have a new opportunity for a Planning Manager (12month fixed term contract) to join our team within Vistry Southern, this role would be based out of our Basingstoke Office. As our Planning Manager, you will support planning input across the Business Unit required to promote and deliver the Company's development sites across the central southern region.

You will support the Head of Planning with the preparation, submission and negotiation of all types of planning applications, the monitoring and evidencing of s106 obligations and condition trackers to ensure compliance and support house sales and assist in the identification and promotion of new development opportunities and provide advice to the Business Unit as required.

Applications from Assistant Planning Managers are also welcome.

This is a fixed 12 month contract with the potential to be extended.

  • BA/BSc (Hons) Planning Studies and/or postgrad Diploma in Planning Studies

  • Licentiate Member/Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (preferable)

  • Previous relevant experience in consultancy or development company, demonstrating site appraisal/negotiation/communication skills and knowledge of planning/legal process.

  • Some public sector experience an advantage

  • Preparation, submission and negotiation of planning applications (Full/Reserved Matters applications, discharge of conditions, non-material amendments etc)

  • Monitoring and evidencing s106 obligations.

  • Monitoring and evidencing planning condition discharge/compliance.

  • Liaise, consult and negotiate with relevant external organisations, including attendance at public consultation and stakeholder events.

  • Provide planning advice on issues arising on sites already secured and also in relation potential land investments.

  • Ad-hoc advice notes to the business on emerging national planning policy and legislation.

  • Monitor Central and Local Government policies, guidance and advice.

  • Provide advice and assistance to colleagues and trainees on planning matters.

  • Ensure continued professional development to meet MRTPI requirements.

  • Undertake other duties as required.
