Commencing in 2022 and ending in March 2026, Changing Chalk is a pioneering scheme, funded in part by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, delivering eighteen individual yet collaborative projects across the Eastern South Downs to restore and care for nature, improve people's wellbeing, bring diverse histories to life, and break down complex barriers to participation in the outdoors.

We're looking for a skilled Ranger to join our Countryside team.
This is a permanent, part-time role where you'll be working 3 days per week, ideally Tuesday to Thursday however, there is some flexibility in this which can be discussed at interview.
As a countryside property, the National Trust at Winchelsea is at the forefront of conservation managing the land in our care through a small but dedicated team, to the highest standards for conservation, access, and wider public benefits.
As Area Ranger you'll lead the team in the day-to-day delivery of our land management in and around Winchelsea.
You'll be reporting to the General Manager who is based at The White Cliffs of Dover.
The voice of our landscapes, conservation champions and lovers of all things outdoors, you'll help to keep the British countryside and coast wonderful.
