Responsibilities: Effective and efficient food production in line with recipe sheet Full knowledge of all menu items serve Management of production to ensure minimal wastage Maintenance of food levels throughout all service period Maintenance of food quality and brand standard Ensuring the maintenance of high hygiene and health and safety standards in line with Aramark requirements and identify any anomalies and incident Capturing and recording all volumes consumed and overproduction Assisting in the compilation of all shift opening and closing checklist Discussing ideas or improvements with line manage Act as a trainer/ coach for new team members to learn procedures and standards for all kitchen tasks Undertake relevant training as require In addition to the above, Chefs may occasionally be required to undertake ad hoc back of house and front of house duties in line with business requirements ALL chef staff must wear long sleeve chef jackets and non slip shoes. Requirements: Proven experience as a kitchen assistant, commis chef, or relevant role is required. Basic understanding of culinary techniques and cooking methods. We are looking for a Senior Cook in Stafford £12.18ph ref 421014 Duties of the role: Prepare, cook and serve wholesome food for our young visitors on their school residential visit. Meals are selected in advance by schools with one or two options per afternoon. Quality control all aspects of catering, cleaning and room presentation Manage all aspects of food hygiene, Environmental Health standards and regulations. Clean the kitchen and dining room to a high standard Control stock, requisition and receive goods. We are looking for a candidate who: is organised and have a "can do" attitude, is comfortable working alone and as part of a small team, holds L3 Food Hygiene and catering qualifications is organised and have a strong understanding of food safety procedures is determined to create a warm and welcoming environment for our young visitors and their teachers. An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role, along with a KCSIE (Keeping Children Safe in Education) check. Hours: Flexible for the right person. Rota to be established with the candidate - 16 to 31 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Latest shift ends at 18:30 Thursday. Very occasional weekend working is available at an enhanced rate.
