Chef

We are currently recruiting a temporary cover chef for our client in Arbroath, Angus.

Responsibilities:

  • Effective and efficient food production in line with recipe sheet
  • Full knowledge of all menu items serve
  • Management of production to ensure minimal wastage
  • Maintenance of food levels throughout all service period
  • Maintenance of food quality and brand standard
  • Ensuring the maintenance of high hygiene and health and safety standards in line with Aramark requirements and identify any anomalies and incident
  • Capturing and recording all volumes consumed and overproduction
  • Assisting in the compilation of all shift opening and closing checklist
  • Discussing ideas or improvements with line manage
  • Act as a trainer/ coach for new team members to learn procedures and standards for all kitchen tasks
  • Undertake relevant training as require
  • In addition to the above, Chefs may occasionally be required to undertake ad hoc back of house and front of house duties in line with business requirements
  • ALL chef staff must wear long sleeve chef jackets and non slip shoes.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a kitchen assistant, commis chef, or relevant role is required.
  • Basic understanding of culinary techniques and cooking methods.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for food.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
