We are currently recruiting a temporary cover chef for our client in Arbroath, Angus.
Responsibilities:
- Effective and efficient food production in line with recipe sheet
- Full knowledge of all menu items serve
- Management of production to ensure minimal wastage
- Maintenance of food levels throughout all service period
- Maintenance of food quality and brand standard
- Ensuring the maintenance of high hygiene and health and safety standards in line with Aramark requirements and identify any anomalies and incident
- Capturing and recording all volumes consumed and overproduction
- Assisting in the compilation of all shift opening and closing checklist
- Discussing ideas or improvements with line manage
- Act as a trainer/ coach for new team members to learn procedures and standards for all kitchen tasks
- Undertake relevant training as require
- In addition to the above, Chefs may occasionally be required to undertake ad hoc back of house and front of house duties in line with business requirements
- ALL chef staff must wear long sleeve chef jackets and non slip shoes.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a kitchen assistant, commis chef, or relevant role is required.
- Basic understanding of culinary techniques and cooking methods.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for food.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
