To undertake assessments of individual and carers needs and risks to encourage independence, provide support and prevent harm.
To undertake statutory intervention where service users are deemed to be at risk, including situations where people may be neglected or abused in accordance with the Inter-Agency Policy and Procedures for Safeguarding Adults.
This includes promoting a multi-agency approach by developing and maintaining effective working relationships.
Provide high quality social work as part of a multi-professional team, acting, as required, as the lead professional for families caring for adolescents presenting with a range of needs including being victims/perpetrators of child sexual exploitation, young people affected or involved in serious youth violence and group offending, missing from home.
Build the resilience of children, young people and their families by using evidenced based approaches to achieve sustained change.
Use the direction, support and guidance of your line manager and the multiprofessional team to effectively manage the range of complexities of risk and ambiguity families present with.
Provide professional supervision of other Social Workers, supporting caseload management and promoting reflective practice and continuous professional development.
Manage social work caseload of more complex nature and with high levels of autonomy.
Provide expert professional and technical advice on Children in Need to other Social Workers, managers, colleagues, and partners.
