The role To be responsible for ensuring that appropriate repair and maintenance requirements are identified and undertaken as necessary to maintain plant availability. Advise management on safety issues. Carry out a risk assessment and method statement for routine and defect maintenance tasks as required. Maintain a good standard of housekeeping. Responsible for determining and executing repair and preventative maintenance on mechanical machinery. Help other maintenance colleagues with routine tasks or major overhauls. Provide mechanical maintenance support to maximise plant operation. Provide support to the Engineering Department as directed by the Maintenance Manager. Recommend modifications or maintenance procedures that enhance departmental performance. Assist in the plant maintenance shutdown period. Essential skills NVQ Level III or HNC in mechanical maintenance. At least 5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance and installation. Proven experience of refurbishing pumps (centrifugal, piston, mono), conveyors, elevators, shredders, hydraulics, filter presses, bearings, gear boxes, fans, etc. Good knowledge of health and safety legislation. Knowledge of DCS, ESD, and PLC based control systems. Good communication skills and being a team player. Valid Driving Licence. Trained or experienced FLT Driver.
