What you'll do: As a Senior Cost Accountant, you will be at the heart of our client's finance department, providing comprehensive management accounting and reporting services. You will liaise closely with various stakeholders, including management, internal clients, and offshore teams, ensuring accurate monthly expense information. Your role will also involve playing an integral part in the annual budgeting and forecasting process, validating templates, justifying figures, and ensuring managers have all necessary information. You will attend regular meetings with senior staff members to brief them on overall financial performance. Your responsibilities will also include reconciling Central Finance figures with Local reporting P&L, reviewing balance sheets, preparing forms for budget transfers, assisting offshore teams with invoice coding issues, and preparing monthly MI packs. Liaise with management, internal clients, and offshore teams to obtain and validate monthly expense information Play an integral role in the annual budgeting and forecasting process Ensure correct input of Budget information into bank financial systems Attend monthly meetings with COO/N-1s/SPOCs to brief them on overall financial performance Reconcile and control check Central Finance figures with Local reporting P&L Review Balance Sheet Recs for areas and aged accruals to ensure timely receipt of invoices Prepare forms and follow through Budget Transfer/changes in scope Assist offshore team in Mumbai with coding issues on invoices Prepare monthly MI packs/Flash report for all functions What you bring: The ideal candidate for the Senior Cost Accountant position is a qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA or equivalent) with a strong ability to interrogate, analyse and interpret data. You are committed and confident, able to deliver within tight deadlines and present to senior management. Your communication skills are excellent, both written and verbal, and you have intermediate MS Office skills, including Excel and Powerpoint. Prior experience of cost accounting and preparation of management commentaries is essential, as is knowledge of General Ledger systems such as SAP. Senior Pensions Officer £150-£200 per day Hybrid working Central London 3-6 Month contract This is supporting a London Council on a temporary basis for an initial 3 months but may get extended. Due to internal movements the authority now need an interim Senior Pensions Officer to hit the ground running. As a Senior Pensions Officer you will be responsible for: Ensuring monthly reporting is run for new starters and data interfaced to Altair. Maintaining and improving the pensions system, also responsible for monthly AVC reporting and reconciliation. To ensure that managers and staff of the Council and other scheme employers are advised on pension issues, including entitlements, benefits, pensionable pay, redundancy estimates and regulations and to draft responses and collate information to complex member letters/emails of member complaints. To interpret and apply pension scheme regulations and HMRC legislation and take account of the Council's discretionary powers in making recommendations. This includes pension adjustments, payment increases, and review of individual cases. Successful candidates will have significant Local Government Pension Scheme experience and have a good understanding of Altair systems. Previous experience of working in a large finance function is desirable.
