This is a purely commercial role with some involvement in the month end process. Responsibilities Supporting Operations stakeholders by producing monthly financial reports, explaining variances and providing insights. Production of presentations to showcase the forward planning Improving internal controls and efficiencies and standardise/automate wherever possible. Heavily assist in the budget and forecast processes, building templates and reports, modelling inputs and assumptions. Working with FP&A and Accounting teams across the group, building relationships with key individuals to manage month end tasks and deal with financial queries. Capturing financial risks and opportunities and communicating them to stakeholders. Supporting commercial decision making by building business cases and undertaking scenario modelling. Getting involved in financial deep dives or ad hoc analysis as required. Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate must have ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualifications. Education: A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar FP&A role. Knowledge and Skills: Strong analytical skills, proficiency in financial software, excellent communication skills, ability to work under pressure, attention to detail, and a strategic mindset. You'll be responsible for the execution of an annual risk-based assurance plan while performing assurance and control testing and embedding sustainable and adequate control frameworks within the Chief Operating Office. The coverage includes key risk disciplines mainly related to Conduct, Operational, Digital & Technology, Data, Economic Crime, Payment, Resilience and Third-Party Risk. What you'll be doing... Supporting senior management with the development and execution of an appropriate risk-based assurance and control testing plan. Providing assurance that the risks in the team have been understood and that the appropriate processes and controls are in place and are designed and operating effectively whilst adhering to agreed risk appetite limits. Ensuring that effective systems and controls are in place to identify, measure and control all business and regulatory risks in an appropriate manner and that all activities are conducted in accordance with risk appetite, regulatory requirements, FCA/PRA/BoE rules and Industry Standards. Documenting assurance, controls testing results and reviews consistently to a high standard. Escalating risks/issues which are not managed within agreed tolerances or do not have the appropriate level of management awareness with a full articulation of the impact and remediation activities required. Building trusted relationships with all stakeholders which include Business Unit leadership teams, Risk and Internal Audit stakeholders and key Third Parties. Engaging with third parties direct on any associated supplier assurance and controls reviews performed. Providing day to day support and coaching to the Assurance & Control Specialists and Analysts as required. We need you to have... Experience in risk/assurance/audit in a similar role, preferably in financial services, banking or other relevant industry. Understanding and application of risk and control testing frameworks and methodologies. Experience in influencing, communicating and collaborating with senior management and stakeholders. Experience in preparing and delivering structured presentations, briefings and reporting. Strong delivery focus, able to balance and successfully deliver across a wide range of deliverables, to several stakeholders who may at times have competing priorities. Analytical skills and the ability to interpret the impact of industry, regulatory and economic factors and events on the business. Strong knowledge of the regulatory environment and experience with regulators.
