Advert close date: Friday 24th May 2024 Job summary: To provide an efficient responsive installation and cyclical maintenance service to plumbing heating installations across the Estate's property portfolio including Biomass servicing and repairs. Provide emergency cover out of hours. Essential functions of the role Carry out plumbing / heating repairs in response to reported faults, diagnose faults and replacing defective parts as necessary; Assist in the annual maintenance programme as required including heating, servicing, sourcing and replacing parts as necessary; Provide technical and general reports both written and oral including customer feedback on maintenance issues for both current and future developments. Where necessary identify areas of concern such as defects, repair trends etc.; Keep appropriate records such as repair works undertaken, contact with residents, orders etc.; Undertake other maintenance works as necessary; Ensure accurate completion of all paperwork in connection with the post of Plumbing / Heating Engineer; Ensure the necessary materials, plant, equipment and tools are organised, available and appropriate to the task; Liaise with other trades, service suppliers and contractors; Liaison with customers regarding the nature of the work, the work programme, implications, access etc.; Ensure the effective maintenance and repair of drainage, rainwater systems, gutters and down pipes; Support planned maintenance and day to day servicing of sewage plants, bio-plants and septic tanks as required; Assist in the location, repair and re-instatement of pipelines and other services; Maintain culverts and drainage ditches as required; Undertake voluntary overtime as required. Skills & experience required: Qualified to City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3; Qualified to work with Central heating, Water heaters, Cookers, Pipe work, Unvented hot water; Qualified Gas Safe Engineer (CCN1); Ability to work independently and using own initiative; Good interpersonal skills and exercise tact and diplomacy; Excellent analytical and fault finding skills; Goal and results orientated; To act in a confidential manner when dealing with all The Crown Estates activities; Full clean driving licence. Have completed an Apprenticeship working in domestic plumbing; Working as part of a team undertaking cyclical and servicing contracts; Providing a customer focused service; Good knowledge of heating and plumbing supplies and equipment; Good working knowledge of other building trades.
