Your new role To carry out routine/preventative and reactive maintenance of electronic components of the plant and equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Rectify and support electronic breakdowns efficiently and effectively Communicate, record any changes, relevant information fully to other personnel and complete maintenance documentation. Work as an integral part of an engineering team. Take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and others, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations. Respond to plant breakdowns by ensuring that PPM is carried out, reducing downtime. Ensure that all work is carried out to a high standard as expected in a pharmaceutical plant. Ensure all H&S (Health and Safety) procedures are adhered to, including Permit to Work, Comply with Health & Safety requirements: as per training, policies, procedures, risk assessments, method statements, safe systems of work etc. Report any H&S issues/accidents/near misses to your line manager immediately. Attend training as required to maintain personal qualifications/competence. All employees are required to be flexible and carry out any reasonable requests to suit the needs of the business. Your new role Be part of the engineering team that ensures facilities & equipment are "Fit for purpose" as defined by EHS policies, Quality management system and strategic plan. As part of a multi-skilled engineering team, provide automation expertise to key projects being considered for delivery of new products and resolving technical issues as identified across all sites. Enhance project engineering capability and processes to deliver the capital programme on time, within budget and to the highest standards of quality. Ensure automated equipment is efficiently and effectively maintained whilst adhering to company SOPs. Enforce quality driven methodologies for implementing changes and improving equipment reliability. Providing technical support for automation systems specifications, planned maintenance, development and troubleshooting. Provide project lifecycle documentation, including but not limited to; requirements documents, specification documents, data sheets, electrical drawings, commissioning documents. Carry out computer (control) systems owner activities, to include configuration management and data control; ensuring that activities are carried out and records kept in line with cGxP regulations. Ensuring that external contractors are always adhering to procedures while on site. Any other duties as deemed necessary by management. What you'll need to succeed Higher Level qualification in an engineering discipline & minimum of 3 years relevant experience. In depth knowledge of process control and instrumentation. Strong technical skills. Experience of carrying out PLC based control system fault-finding and planned maintenance. Ability to understand PLC logic code (Siemens/Mitsubishi) for the purpose of troubleshooting. Logical and well-organised approach to problem-solving. Ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment, to operate under time pressure.
