Graduate Data Analyst - Reading Overview: We have a fantastic opportunity for a bright and capable Graduate Analyst (STEM subjects) looking to develop a career within statistics and analytics. This will be an exciting three year Graduate placement working for a Consultancy based in Reading. You will work within a supportive team environment and have the opportunity to receive industry recognised training and certification. As your experience grows, so does your salary - initially starting on a salary of £32,000, the Company conducts regular salary reviews and this can increase to c£47,000 by the end of the placement! Initially focusing on data science and statistical analysis responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to progress through to assisting with the design of information and communication products. Once you've gained a real understanding of our client's service offering, you'll have the chance to work on client facing engagements and build your consulting skills. There will be opportunities to travel and attend meetings at customer sites across the UK. My client are a large government organisation, they are seeking a Statistical Methodologist on an initial 4 month contract basis (37 hours per week). The role is paying £20.47 per hour for the duration of the contract. LIVE SC CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED TO BE IN PLACE FOR THIS ROLE Qualifications PhD/Degree/MSc in a highly numerate subject (e.g. Maths, Economics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science) Mandatory Experience Strong skills in Python and R programming for data analysis (essential). Aptitude for research, analysing statistics and disseminating statistical result. An interest in statistical theory and its practical applications, and new developments in the field. An aptitude for statistical computing (programming), ideally with experience of SAS, R, Python, Stata or other similar software, and the ability to learn new programming languages. An eye for detail and inquisitive nature, with a curiosity to understand how things work and why, and a desire to learn. An innovative and proactive approach to developing new methods and applications with strong problem-solving skills. An ability to deliver high-quality outputs to specified deadlines. An ability to work both independently and as part of a team. An ability to communicate effectively, presenting statistical results orally and in writing using a range of formats, and to different audiences. Successful candidates will be required to undergo BPSS Clearance, therefore applicants must of resided in the UK for a minimum of four out of the last five years, in order to undergo this level of security check.
