We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Social Worker to join our Children's Social Work Service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse case load including Child in Need, Child Protection, and Child in Care cases, including involvement in Care Proceedings where necessary. Responsibilities: Manage a case load of Child in Need, Child Protection, and Child in Care cases, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children and young people. Conduct assessments and develop care plans in collaboration with children, families, and other professionals. Provide timely and effective interventions to support children and families in crisis situations. Attend court hearings and represent the interests of children in Care Proceedings. Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including partner agencies and service providers. Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with statutory requirements and departmental policies. Support duty responsibilities as part of the Children's Social Work Service, including responding to safeguarding concerns and emergencies. Requirements: Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England. Previous experience working within Children's Social Work Services, preferably in a similar local authority setting. Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child protection and welfare. Excellent assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities. Commitment to professional development and continuous learning. Flexibility to work at least three days a week in the office and participate in duty rota arrangements. We are currently recruiting for an Intelligence Support Officer to work for Devon and Cornwall Police at Charles Cross Police Station in Plymouth. This role is 37 hours, Monday to Friday. This role will be focused on assisting with a specific part of the Intelligence Support Officer role which is processing intelligence. The main functions that will be expected as part of this role are: Quality assesses and evaluates Intelligence for publication, and dissemination in line with the guidance set out in the Management of Police Information (MOPI) ensuring compliance with the legal framework and meets a policing purpose that is compliant with the Human Rights act and data protection principles. Ensure the correct Intelligence / Source evaluations and handling codes are applied and Risk assessments are included where applicable. Undertake initial research in order to add value to the intelligence product and mitigate risk. Ensure local and PNC warnings / markers are added and maintained as appropriate. Manages the dissemination of intelligence to other Police Forces, Law enforcement agencies and partner agencies in line with national standards. Role-Specific Training and CPD to be undertaken. Initial training and then maintain up to date Knowledge of current Force systems. Policies, procedures, and legislation relating to the collation, management, recording and dissemination of Intelligence data. (e.g. RIPA, ECHR, DPA, GDPR, LED and MOPI / APP) Completion of Intelligence Foundation Course. Work to obtain and maintain IPP accreditation. NCALT - Police Staff Induction Package / Protecting Information: Level 1' course / National Decision Model / Code of Ethics Training / Equality Act 2010: An Introduction on NCALT Essential experience and specialist skills and knowledge Demonstrable ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships across different organisations and/or teams, removing unnecessary barriers to services delivery. A good standard of computer literacy and IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Office software and IT systems. Good verbal and written communication skills in order to obtain and clearly present information to a wide range of audiences. The ability to effectively plan and prioritise own workload in a methodical manner often with minimal supervision within a dynamic environment. Proven experience of researching and evaluating material accurately.
