We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Social Worker to join our Children's Social Work Service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse case load including Child in Need, Child Protection, and Child in Care cases, including involvement in Care Proceedings where necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a case load of Child in Need, Child Protection, and Child in Care cases, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
- Conduct assessments and develop care plans in collaboration with children, families, and other professionals.
- Provide timely and effective interventions to support children and families in crisis situations.
- Attend court hearings and represent the interests of children in Care Proceedings.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including partner agencies and service providers.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with statutory requirements and departmental policies.
- Support duty responsibilities as part of the Children's Social Work Service, including responding to safeguarding concerns and emergencies.
Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
- Previous experience working within Children's Social Work Services, preferably in a similar local authority setting.
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child protection and welfare.
- Excellent assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
- Flexibility to work at least three days a week in the office and participate in duty rota arrangements.
