Job Title: Maintenance & Reliability Engineer Location: Field Based (UK) Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 (DOE) benefits Core Hours: Mon - Fri 08:45-17:00 Contract Type: Permanent Company & Role Our client is one of the UK leading utility suppliers, servicing a large number of customers in England, Scotland & Wales. As part of the Technical Engineering Team, you will hold joint responsibility for maintenance and projects across the UK. We are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance & Reliability Engineer to be field based (average 3 nights away per week) attending operational sites and customer locations around the UK. Due to the nature of the role, applicants must have a full UK driving license, be flexible to nights away and overtime if required. A company vehicle is provided. As the Maintenance & Reliability Engineer, your duties will include; Attending to the general maintenance of sites; including pressure vessels, pumps, compressors, piping, EC&I and pneumatic equipment Carrying out statutory examinations and inspections. Completing infrastructure projects Managing and escalating operational and/or regulatory risks Promptly investigating and reporting any incidents Consistently working to legislative and company standards. Keeping the asset database up to date Contributing to process and functional safety through utilisation of various assessments. Aiding progress by recommending approaches, processes and procedures. Continuously maintaining a strong knowledge of industry best practices and completing necessary training as required As the successful Maintenance & Reliability Engineer, you will have the following skills/experience; Experience within both mechanical and electrical engineering. CompEx qualification Knowledge of PSSR, COMAH, ATEX, CDM Practical understanding of process design, operation and installation Strong computer literacy and the ability to pick up new software quickly. Initiative to work under your own direction. Ability to make quick, clear decisions which may include tough choices or considered risks. Engineering planner or Reliability engineer , 3 month contract £35.00 - £40.00 per hour dependent on experience Commutable from Milton keynes, Bedford, Biggleswade, Sandy, The Engineering Planner or Reliability engineer will work as part of the engineering management team, taking responsibility to ensure that the highest engineering standards are followed at all times and be fully accountable for ensuring that engineering planning and scheduling is optimised with regard to the Planned Maintenance Schedule and Asset Management. The Engineering Planner/ Reliability engineer will work closely with the Site Engineering Manager and the Engineering team to maximise the performance of engineering operations and will be responsible for the work planning of the engineering team, critical spares and contract labour, including shutdowns and PPMs. Main duties of Engineering Planner/ Reliability engineer The leadership of the maintenance coordination, establishing best engineering practices. Ensuring OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency). To chair scheduling meetings for planned activities. Control, populate and prioritise a work backlog for all engineering activities. Work closely with the Engineering Manager, and Operational Managers to provide a schedule of work for shift engineers to maintain and improve the reliability of assets. Liaise with production, services, and central functions, to ensure that routine maintenance is planned, and job requests are executed and costed efficiently and effectively. Stock control and costings of critical spares. Working with the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) SHIRE Train the engineers The successful Engineering Planner or Reliability Engineer will ideally have worked within a Planning and Scheduling role in the FMCG process and manufacturing industry and have experience of : CMMS and Engineering Maintenance, along with strong organisational skills with the ability to plan resources and coordinate people effectively. Engineering Training / Qualifications (NVQ3, HNC) Problem-solving tools and techniques to deliver efficiency. Strong computer skills Excellent English language written, spoken & reading. Good Communication techniques Experience CMMS Experience in budget management.
