You will be responsible for the day- to- day management of tenancy and neighbourhood issues in respect of a designated group of dwellings, ensuring the proper and appropriate use of accommodation and ensuring that residents receive an efficient and effective service in respect of tenancy and related issues.
Tenancy Enforcement Officers provide a comprehensive, high quality, customer focused range of front- line services to our residents.
This will be an office based role Monday to Friday with no option of Hybrid working.
To arrange emergency, temporary accommodation placements and make appropriate referrals into supported accommodation, ensuring all placements and referrals are carried out in a timely manner, making the best use of all available housing stock at all times.
Arrange emergency accommodation on behalf of other Council services, including Children's Social Services and Adult Social Care as and when required.
To make offers of properties in line with Housing legislation and make robust decisions to discharge duty where necessary that will withstand legal scrutiny.
To work under the direction of the Safer Communities Operation Manager in the Safer Communities Service to ensure the effective and efficient running of the licensing service and discharge the Council's statutory duties in respect of a range of licensing functions and to serve the Council, its Committee Members and Officers.
The service is responsible for administering and enforcing a variety of licensing registrations and permit regimes, including those related to alcohol, entertainment and late night refreshments; gambling premises and lotteries; animal establishments, scrap metal and marriages.
(1) have excellent knowledge of Licensing Act 2003, Gambling Act 2005 and other licensing legislation related to the post.
