Financial Planning & Reporting Analyst Location: Harpenden, UK Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 Our Client is in search of a Financial Planning and Reporting Analyst (FP&RA) to play a pivotal role in the development of the company's Finance department. The FP&RA will collaborate closely with the VP of Finance & the leadership team to ensure the company meets statutory financial timelines and supports the development of internal compliant processes. Responsibilities: Management Develop and oversee financial accounting policies and protocols collaboratively for all entities within the group. Be prepared to recruit additional accountants with various specialisms over the coming years, drawing on a knowledge base in the interim. Supervise and participate in financial accounting operations including AP, AR, fixed assets, general ledger, audit preparation, accounting policies, and statutory reporting. Transactions Ensure all financial transactions are properly processed. Perform payroll processing. Conduct bank reconciliations and Intercompany reconciliations. Manage tax filings and VAT claims. Support the development of fraud detection protocols. Monitor transactions for compliance and anti-corruption policies. Reporting Prepare monthly and annual financial accounts to IFRS standards at the company and group levels. Prepare documentation supporting the chart of accounts, including appropriate dimensions per account, while also making any approved amendments. Coordinate with internal and external providers for the preparation of annual audited accounts. Audit, Risk & Compliance Comply with statutory reporting requirements, tax filings, and VAT reclaims. Report fraud, reporting errors, and other inconsistencies for further investigation. Manage compliance with group transfer pricing policies. Systems Assist in the ongoing implementation and operation of the full-service group ERP system (Dynamics365) in both the UK and global subsidiary companies. Be fully conversant in Microsoft Tools, especially Excel. Utilize business intelligence tools to analyze and report financial information, e.g., KPI reporting to Power BI. Continuous Improvement Monitor and evaluate changes in law, accounting standards, and best practices related to financial accounting, risk, and compliance. Influence other members of the management team towards nurturing an ethical culture. Experience/ Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in accounting, business, economics, or finance. Chartered accountant qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) - not critical as experience considered. Necessary: Hands-on experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Balance Sheet Reconciliations, and Bank Reconciliations. Necessary: Experience of managing and consolidating accounts across multiple geographies/group accounts. Necessary: Detailed knowledge of IFRS standards. Necessary: Comfortable with new software and IT systems. Necessary: Experience using full-service ERP systems e.g., SAP, Oracle, Dynamics. Desirable: Hands-on experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365.
