Permanent Senior Finance Manager - Education Organisation Salary: £40,000 - £47,000 DOE LGPS Pension Flexible Working Trinity House Group is working exclusively with an educatio organisation in Birmingham to recruit a Senior Finance Manager with a medium-term progression plan to become Finance Director. The role is focused on leading the finance team and bridging finance and non-finance colleagues. Key Responsibilities: Assist in developing and implementing financial strategies and policies. Oversee day-to-day financial operations including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger. Manage payroll and pensions operations. Conduct regular financial reconciliations and audits. Provide financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reports. Collaborate on departmental budgets and ensure compliance with regulations. Implement effective financial controls and risk management strategies. Stay updated with sector information and advise on impacts and opportunities. Lead and guide the finance and payroll team. Present financial information to leadership and stakeholders. Engage with external stakeholders such as auditors and funding bodies. Ensure financial robustness of new activities and monitor their progress. Lead month and year-end processes and prepare financial statements. Required Skills: Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role, ideally in an educational or public sector setting. Strong financial acumen and understanding of financial principles and regulations. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to explain complex financial issues to non-finance colleagues. Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Knowledge of financial risk management and control strategies. Adaptability to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications: Fully-qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIPFA, CIMA, etc.) or a finalist close to qualification.
