An exciting opportunity for an experienced Packaging Technologist to join this well-established European Food Business supplying bakery products to a range of major supermarkets.
With an interest in chemistry / materials our client is looking for a motivated school leaver who would like be part of a global organisation within the packaging sciences sector, working across the Pack Testing and Technical Support teams to provide support to operations and project leaders in particular to complaint resolution, defect and materials investigation, and the development and qualification of new packaging materials and formats.
As a school leaver embarking on a degree apprenticeship you will primarily involve supporting pack testing and technical support activities whilst completing a part time distance learning Chemical Science Degree.
Support and/or lead as appropriate, the project management of briefs from concept to launch with a right first time approach (including sample submissions and sample amendments, customer presentations, critical path, launch update, trials, artwork and packaging development process, manufacturing and palletisation guidelines, post implementation reviews).

The role
Your job is to ensure a product moves from its design and development stage into the hands of the retailer or end user.
You will work closely with internal stake holders, overseas manufacturers and the customer to fully meet or exceed expectations for product compliance, quality, packaging, sustainability, on time delivery and end user performance.
Working as a Packaging Technician, your work will focus on constructing clinical trial kits in a GMP environment.

To keep the quality manual and other food safety documents including HACCP up to date and to ensure the company meets with all current food legislation.
To support the successful completion of customer and third-party audits and visits.
