We are looking for a Project Lead to join the Purchasing team as an interface with the Engineering department, based at the clients corporate Head Office amd manufacturing facility in central Staffordshire. The successful applicant will not be involved in front end buying, but be responsible for leading the Group Purchasing activity required to support the launch of new vehicles. This is a key role liaising with the engineering team and the procurement function. Coordinating with a team of Purchasing Project Leaders within the UK, the goal is to co-ordinate the development and launch of new components in line with the cost, quality and delivery expectations of the business. This role requires the successful candidate to be self-motivated, process driven and have the ability to work on your own initiative as well as lead a team. You must be able to communicate well at every level of the business, as the role has exposure to line managers and directors from varied departments across the company. The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following Experience & Qualifications:- Relevant experience of project or supplier management within a manufacturing environment Holding and building senior relationships within a global / matrix organisation Graduate calibre in manufacturing or engineering, with particular emphasis on quality, operations and materials management Preferably working towards PRINCE2 qualified As this is not a buyer role CIPS is not necessary buy may be of advantage Production or Engineering background Flexibility to travel The company offer great support with career progression and development, as well as good salary, company pension scheme. Building effective relationships with stakeholders is key to raising the procurement department's profile. Address problems autonomously while seeking line manager guidance as needed. Demonstrate creativity in seeking continuous improvement opportunities. Ideal Candidate: Has working knowledge and commercial awareness of purchasing and procurement principles.
